Wm. Bert Brannon is a member of the firm Callison Tighe & Robinson, LLC and concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, choice of entity planning; business successioan planning; taxation of individuals and business entities, and corporate law. He received his B.S. degree in Computer Science/Mathematics from Furman University in 1987; his M.B.A. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Business in 1990; and his J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1991. He received his Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM) from New York University School of Law in 1992. Mr. Brannon was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1991.
Mr. Brannon is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and has been certified as a Specialist in the area of Estate Planning and Probate Law by the South Carolina Supreme Court. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 2008 (2019 Lawyer of the year in Fiduciary Litigation), and South Carolina Super Lawyers since 2010.
Mr. Brannon is the former chairman of the Columbia Tax Study Group and the former President of the Columbia Estate Planning Council. He served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of South Carolina School of Law for 20 years where he taught Estate Planning and Will Drafting. He is the lead author of the South Carolina Probate Practice Manual for the South Carolina Bar, along with Al Moses who has retired.
