Adding Lawgic As a Trusted Publisher in Microsoft Word

Note:  This topic does NOT apply to Lawgic's California products

Before sending your first document to Microsoft Word you must add Lawgic as a Trusted Publisher in order to enable the Lawgic macro which is used for formatting and autonumbering purposes.  This procedure only needs to be done once.  Instructions for each version of Word are as follows:

For Microsoft Word 2010 users

a. Create a document in Lawgic and send it to Word.  Once open it will display a Security Warning bar, which is beneath the toolbar as follows:

 

Note:   If you do not see the Security Bar, your macro security is set to "Enable All Macros" or "Disable all macros without notification", which means the macro was not allowed to run.  To enable Lawgic's macro:

• Click Word’s File tab in the upper left corner.

• Select Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings button.

• Set your security from "Disable all macros without notification"  to “Disable all macros with notification" or “Disable all macros except digitally signed macros" and click OK.  

• Close your document, and re-send to Word and begin this step again until you see the Security Bar.

b. Click Word’s File tab in the upper left corner.

c. Select the Enable Content button in the Security Warning pane as follows:

 

d. Select Advanced Options.

e. At the Security Options screen, select Trust all documents from this publisher.

f. Click OK. This will add Lawgic as a Trusted Publisher.

g. Continue formatting your document as instructed by selecting Control-A then the F9 key.

Important:  You must add Lawgic as a trusted publisher BEFORE selecting Control-A/F9 or you will get an Alert box saying the macros are disabled. If this happens, you should re-send the document to Word and follow the procedures above to add Lawgic as a trusted publisher.

For Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 users running Microsoft Word 2007

a. Create a document in Lawgic and send it to Word.  Once open it will display a Security Warning bar, which is beneath the toolbar as follows:

• Click the round Word Office button in the upper left corner.

• Select Word Options Button > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings button.

• Set your security from "Disable all macros without notification"  to “Disable all macros with notification" or “Disable all macros except digitally signed macros" and click OK.  

• Close your document, and re-send to Word and begin this step again until you see the Security Warning Bar as in the screen shot above.

b. Select the Options button on the Security Warning Bar.

c. Select the radio button Trust all documents from this publisher.

d. Click the OK button. This will add Lawgic as a Trusted Publisher.

e. Continue formatting your document as instructed by selecting Control-A then the F9 key.

Important:  You must add Lawgic as a trusted publisher BEFORE selecting Control-A/F9 or you will get an Alert box saying the macros are disabled. If this happens, you should re-send the document to Word and follow the procedures above to add Lawgic as a trusted publisher.

For Microsoft Word 2002 and 2003 users

a. Create a document in Lawgic and send it to Word.  Once open it will display a Security Warning.  Select the checkbox Always trust macros from this publisher.

Note:  If you do not see the Security Warning your macro security is set to Very High, which means the macro was not allowed to run. To enable Lawgic's macro select Tools > Macro >Security on Word's menu bar.  Set your security from Very High to High, and click OK.  Close Word, re-send the document to Word and begin Step (a) above.

b. Select the Enable Macros button. This will add Lawgic as a Trusted Publisher. Click OK.

For Microsoft Word 2000 users:  Make sure your view in Word is set to Normal view by selecting View > Normal.  The macro will run without adding Lawgic as a Trusted Publisher, but to run the macro you must format your document by selecting Control-A then the F9 key.
